Quick Transfer
Use the Opentrons Flex for individual pipetting steps in manual protocols, e.g. reagent addition, dilutions, and cherrypicking – single steps can now be initiated with a few touchscreen taps.
Liquid Level Detection
You know not to immerse your pipette tip too far in a liquid, and now Flex robots know too. Pressure sensors already installed on all Flex robots now have the capability to detect when pipette tips make contact with liquids, which is especially important when pipetting from 15mL or 50mL tubes.
CSV File Integration
For those complicated pipetting tasks that don’t use every well or change volume between wells, .csv file integration is now a breeze using either the computer or from the Flex touchscreen. Simply send a file to the robot and run without having to integrate into a protocol.
Partial Tip Pickup
Use a multi-channel pipette as a single channel: by picking up a single tip, a multi-channel pipette can be used as a single channel pipette. Ideal for when wells need different volumes, or aspirations/dispenses are desired from a single well. This new feature also allows the use of any number of channels to be used with an 8-channel pipette, and any number of columns to be used on a 96-channel pipette.
