Download the application note: Effect of collagen stiffness on spheriod invasion

Automated Spheroid Invasion Assay Using Collagen from Advanced BioMatrix

In cancer metastasis, which is often related to poor prognoses, the invasion process involves the rearrangement and stiffening of collagen fibers surrounding the tumor, followed by the dissemination of cancer cells from the solid tumor into the vasculature system. To investigate the effect of different collagen stiffnesses on the invasion capacity, we performed an automated
spheroid invasion assay by dispensing collagen using CELLINK’s BIO X™ bioprinter on top of preformed spheroids of triple negative breast MDA-MB-231 cells.
